I like to point out to students, right off the at the start of the year, that I have a particularly faulty memory for personal names. As my SL students have remarked, I can remember alot of genus and species names but personal names have usually eluded me. This linked article is a good one to check out for why name and face recognition is not such an easy thing for the human brain to manage. I know that my facial recognition is not nearly as bad as my name recall, how about you?
